AW18 : CROSS COUNTRY

The Autumn Winter collection is a synthesis of equine riding garb, and the utility of leather, reminiscent of a nostalgic equestrian spirit and the strength and gracefulness of race horses. With the spirit of adventure permeating the collection, a calming quality is imbued by the warm earthiness of the landscape and nature that acts as a backdrop to Cross Country.

The classics of a woman’s wardrobe continue to inspire, with an exploration of the trench coat and the biker, which have become a mainstay of the brand. The focus on detailing with dramatically oversized buttons and bold metallic studs, epaulettes, and exposed zips resonate through the collection. Intricate seaming and clever cutting allow an ease of movement - imperative to the atelier's design process, envisioning a modern woman wearing SKIIM confidently.

Hushed muted tones echo the bucolic landscape including khaki green, hay-bay, tobacco brown, deep cabernet and shimmering bronze whilst punchy colours like mustard yellow are a nod to the jockey silks, and the leopard pony suede print injects a playful whimsy to the collection.

Texture plays an important part with sheepskin shearling, supple suede, and precision laser-cut leather creating a pelage-like quality. Cross-Country introduces new and contrast fabrication to the mix coupled with the select premium leathers, designed to evolve with the wearer, becoming a second skin.

The philosophy of the brand aims to feature leather that is sustainably-sourced as a by-product of the meat industry, vegetable tanned and chrome free, eliminating chemicals from the dyeing process wherever possible. Using top-quality components that meet the character and durability of the leather.

SKIIM is consciously sourced & made in Europe.
